Yo peeps! Calling all horror and thriller fans! Just snagged a screener for Inspector Rishi, the new Tamil web series on Amazon Prime Video, and let me tell you, it’s got some serious spooky forest vibes.
So, what’s the deets?
Inspector Rishi is a ten-episode saga that follows, well, Inspector Rishi (duh!)πββοΈ, a skeptical dude who gets sent to a remote village to investigate a string of creepy murders. But here’s the twist: these ain’t your average slayings. We’re talking whispers of a vengeful forest spirit called Vanaratchi. The show tackles themes of forest protection and has a killer (pun intended) narrative, but here’s the thing – it can be a bit of a slow burn. Think long walks in the woods, not a parkour chase through a haunted mansion.
What’s fire?
- The Concept: Forest spirits and murder mysteries? Sign me up, fam! This is a fresh take on the supernatural horror genre, and the idea of protecting the environment is a major plus.
- The Narrative:Β The story unfolds in a way that keeps you guessing, and the characters are well-developed (major props to the cast, Naveen Chandra especially!).
- The Acting: These actors brought their A-game! The performances are believable and keep you invested in the story.
What’s kinda meh?
- The Pacing: Like I said, it’s a slow burn. Be prepared to hit that fast-forward button a few times (don’t worry, I won’t judge).
- The Visuals: The special effects could have used a bit more oomph, especially when it comes to Vanaratchi’s spooky appearances.
The Verdict?
Inspector Rishi is a decent watch with a great concept and a compelling story. However, the slow pacing and some technical shortcomings might have you reaching for the remote. If you’re a patient horror fan who digs unique narratives, this show might be your jam. But if you need constant action and jump scares, you might wanna keep scrolling.
Overall: It’s a βββ/5 for me.
Worth a watch if you’re looking for something different, but maybe skip a few episodes if you’re short on time.
